Christmas has arrived in Cheltenham

Nothing will be stopping Cheltenham from putting on a show-stopping array of festive activities for their local residents and visitors to enjoy over the holidays.  

Home to our One Bayshill Road  and Latheram House communities, the festival town has gone the extra mile, decorating with dazzling lights and new golden baubleshanging from the trees on the pedestrianised Promenade 

If you’re looking for some activities to get you in the festive spirit then read on as we have cherry picked the best, fun-filled winter activities for you to enjoy in Cheltenham this year:  

A wreath making masterclass 

What could put you in the festive spirit more than a day of wreath making accompanied by a festive afternoon tea?  

Ellenborough Park is offering exactly that, with an exclusive class from Donna Beaver from the Flower StudioHer stylish twist on the traditional wreath is not to be missed! Starting with a glass of mulled wineDonna will then go on to help you create a show stopping wreath for your front door this Christmas. 

Your ticket price will include a full festive afternoon tea, glass of mulled wine and everything you need to create a gorgeous wreath 

Spectacle of Light 

This year, explore the beautiful new illuminated trail around Sudeley Castle’s stunning grounds. The Spectacle of Light is now returning for its 5th year and is an all-round family favourite. Enjoy the wonderful music as you discover each new secret of this magical world and be sure to explore the dungeons to discover which festive creatures are hidden in the castles depths.  

Festive warmers of mulled wine and hot chocolate will be available as you follow the trail around the castle. The castle will be illuminated on selected evenings throughout December, head to their website to book your tickets.  

Carols by Car Light 

A twist on a classic, new for 2020! Cheltenham brings you Carols by Car Light hosted at the famous Cheltenham Racecourse. There will be well-known carols to join in with from the comfort of your own car, as well as Christmas readings and messages. The event will also be in support of the Cheltenham Food Bank, helping them to provide food for local families throughout this Christmas period.  

Pick of the bunch 

Of course, no Christmas would be complete without having picked out your very own tree to bring home and decorate. The Cheltenham Bicycle Hub has trees of every shape and size, they deliver locally and you can even pre-order the tree that you would like!
