Explore Woking on two wheels

Woking area 080 1 min

Famous for its scenic outdoors spaces, the Surrey town of Woking, provides the perfect location for avid cyclers. The area is also home to Moor’s Nook , our collection of later living homes located in Horsell which is just a short walk from Woking town centre where our homeowners and rental members can benefit from easy access to the various trails available.

Take a look at our pick of the best to enjoy this spring and summer.

Planet Network

Located around the borough of Woking is Planet Network, a network of nine cycling routes named after the different planets. Each varies in length and takes in different areas around Woking town centre. One of the most popular routes is the Saturn Trail, a 4.2 miles trail which connects Brookwood to New Haw via Woking town centre. Cyclists can enjoy views of the beautiful Basingstoke Canal towpath along the way.

Surrey Cycleway

The Surrey Cycleway consists of a 94 mile loop around all of Surrey, with nine ‘links’ that enable cyclists to ride shorter circuits into major towns, including Woking. It was first created in 1995 so cyclists could explore some of the more tranquil parts of the county, whilst still benefiting from easy access to popular towns. To the east of Woking, cyclists can pick up the Olympic Race Road Route created for the London 2021 Olympics, the full length of which is from London, through Surrey towns including Weybridge and Dorking, and back to London.

Downs Link

Those looking to venture further afield can drive to Guildford and pick up the Downs Link, which connects North Downs Way from St Martha’s Hill in Guildford to Shoreham-by-Sea in West Sussex. Stretching for 37 miles, the route follows an old railway track, originally built in the 1860s to make it easy for those living in the towns to enjoy a day at the seaside. The route passes through scenic fields, woodlands, rivers and streams, and the variety of habitats means that lots of different birds, butterflies and insects can be spotted.
