The thriving Cornish harbour town of Falmouth has a long and distinguished maritime history - and this is reflected in our spectacular new development, The Fitzroy. Set on the clifftop with breathtaking panoramic coastal views, this iconic building has been built in an idyllic location.

Staying true to the town’s seafaring heritage, the development is named after Admiral Robert Fitzroy, the 19th Century meteorologist who introduced Britain’s first daily weather forecast in 1860. As a sailor, he voyaged with Charles Darwin, invented the Fitzroy barometer and a system of storm warnings, which may have saved many lives at sea.

There are 34 one, two and three bedroomed apartments, each one featuring floor-to-ceiling glass windows, filling the open-plan living rooms with natural light, and large balconies with striking sea views.

We caught up with the Development Director, Mick Marran, who has overseen this incredible project from the beginning...

“We chose Cliff Road in Falmouth as the best location in the area for our new PegasusLife development. It has a stunning outlook and sits well in the street scene, close to some really elegant grand hotels.”

“We took a long lead-in time to make sure that every aspect of the development, from the initial purchase of the site to planning and design, then construction, was carefully controlled by us.”

Building work started in June 2017 and raised such interest among prospective buyers that more than 60% of the properties were sold off-plan before the doors opened.

“We’ve had lots of engagement with new owners in the run-up to moving in,” said Mick. “We wanted to share the latest updates on the building work, plans for the interior design and we invited owners to ask any questions they had so that we could reassure and accommodate them - this early communication opens the way for a smooth transition to their new homes.”

Award-winning architects Allford Hall Monaghan Morris designed the interior living spaces first to meet owners’ needs before the splendid glass exterior was put in place. The result is a five-storey residence with modern, clean lines and light airy rooms - from the impressive atrium reception and sumptuous residents’ lounge to the smallest rooms in the apartments.

“The Fitzroy offers plenty of opportunities for all its owners to enjoy a wonderful sense of community and wellbeing,” said Mick.

“We designed the shared space on the ground floor to encourage people to make friends, have a chat or entertain - but with places where they can sit quietly with a book and a drink and simply relax.”

At PegasusLife, our wellbeing philosophy is also well-represented outdoors, where The Fitzroy’s residents can really make the most of living in glorious Cornwall.

There are outdoor seating and areas to meet up with friends or neighbours over coffee while enjoying the fresh sea air and sunshine. The level access lounge terrace also boasts magnificent sea views and looks out onto Falmouth’s historic Pendennis Castle.

With the bustling town centre and fabulous beach close at hand, not to mention coastal walks and trips to historic Truro and other Cornish towns easily accessible, owners at The Fitzroy have an exciting and fulfilling future ahead.
