Meet Norman Jones (93), rental member at Chapelwood, in the gorgeous market town of Wilmslow, Cheshire. A retired Chartered Accountant sat down and told us about his life and what encouraged him to make the move to Chapelwood. 

Norman Jones and his wife lived in Bramhall for over 60 years where they raised their two daughters. When Norman sadly lost his wife, he decided he no longer wanted to live in their current bungalow and have the responsibility of maintaining his large garden and property. Norman spoke with his daughters and said he would like to rent an apartment somewhere in a good location close to his family. 

“We were looking for around a month. A daughter who lives close by saw the signs outside the community and thought it looked nice … we had gone to view several places but Chapelwood was of the highest quality. I almost signed on the spot”.

It’s a very good place - it’s nice and the General Manager Paul Beswick and Lifehosts are brilliant and have made the move that bit easier”. 

Another reason why Norman was drawn to Chapelwood was because “they have a very good restaurant here. The food is excellent and the service is impeccable”. Norman emphasised “all of the facilities here are of high quality” and he knew exactly what to look out for especially after working in the hotel industry for many years.

Norman went on to tell us how he continues to keep himself busy by playing golf, meeting with his friends at the community for a coffee, and also how he likes to attend some of the events held within Chapelwood “there are plenty of things for people to do if they want to”. 

He said he would describe the community overall as friendly “everyone talks to you, it’s a nice community here and I feel very welcome”. 

"I am very relaxed and happy here at Chapelwood. It is all designed to a high specification and the staff are great - what more could you want".
