Meet Sue Wyld, homeowner at The Vincent, Bristol, who had previously lived in the seaside resort of Brighton. It was a difficult decision for Sue to give up her home in Brighton as she loved being by the sea. Having reached a point where her house required a lot of work, Sue decided that a later living apartment with either a patio or balcony would be more desirable.

Sue explained “I suddenly thought I didn’t want to do this anymore.” After searching around Brighton nothing was really catching her eye, so she decided to look further afield in Bristol where she had lived 32 years prior and is the birthplace of her children.

One of Sue’s friends who lives locally in Bristol mentioned The Vincent to Sue and proposed they take a look around. When they decided to make their first trip to The Vincent, Sue found the perfect apartment with a lovely patio which she put an offer on straight away.

“I love my flat, it’s lovely and big. I also feel like I'm living in a little jungle on my patio, it’s very private and lush in the summer.” Sue continued, “The flat has really good insulation, I had been worried about perhaps hearing the lifts opening and the televisions through the other wall, however I can’t hear anything which is great.”

When discussing Sue’s move overall, she said “the removal people were fantastic and the lady called Joy is true to her name, she is very joyful.” Sue found the removal company Aprico to be absolutely brilliant with nothing being too much trouble. Prior to her move they had set out a rough plan, Sue shared “I imagined I would be walking into boxes and boxes but they were very discrete. They hid the boxes away in the corners of the room.”

As well as being pleased with the apartment, it was important for Sue to be able to continue her very active lifestyle as she loves to keep herself busy by attending social clubs throughout the week, including dancing, swimming, rowing and pilates. She enjoys having the fantastic communal facilities on her doorstep especially the hydrotherapy pool and the herbal sauna.

Sue told us another bonus is they have a very active social committee at The Vincent who hold a number of activities, some include days away, bowls and croquet on the lawn, a book club and themed events at the Cheese Platter restaurant situated on-site. As Sue reflected on her move, she went on to say “the community here is very friendly, there is a lot of support and you don’t need to go too far to speak to anybody. I don’t regret moving here one bit.”
