With the Christmas countdown now officially on, we have been making our festive activity lists and checking them twice! This year, despite the pandemic and lockdown restrictions there are still plenty of activities to embrace the festive spirit in and around Wilmslow, home to our Chapelwood community.

So if you’re looking for some ideas then read on for our top picks of festive activities to enjoy:

The Holly and the Ivy…Cottage!

This year Ivy Cottage are pulling out all the stops! As one of the largest Christmas Tree growers in Cheshire, they are inviting their customers down to the farm to pick out their very own tree for the holidays. On site they also have their Christmas Store which will be serving hot chocolates and is packed full of every Christmas decoration you could possibly imagine. They will even recycle your tree for you in the new year. Simply drop the tree back off at the farm, and the rest will be done for you.

A Christmas Trail: Holly's Festive Feast

Cheshire’s Tatton Park is hosting a festive feel-good family trail in the beautiful mid-winter gardens. Enjoy a journey through the gardens and help solve the puzzles to find Holly the Hare’s friends at their Christmas party. Once you have solved the trail of puzzles you will get to join Holly and her friends at their festive feast! To begin your adventure, garden tickets are for £8 an adult, £6 a child and free for National Trust members.

Festive Afternoon Tea at Mottram Hall

Treat yourself and a friend this Christmas with Mottram Hall’s Festive Afternoon Tea from £25.00 per person. Amongst an assortment of festive cakes and a celebration of tea including their very own house blend, Mottram 1940, you will find something to suit everyone. It’s the perfect way to spend an afternoon with a loved one during this festive period.

You might even spot a friendly robin or a Redwing bird visiting here from Scandinavia.
