On Monday 7th February 2022, Lifestory celebrated a milestone as construction commenced at the new development in Quonians Yard, Lichfield. The £13.5m development by Lifestory will create 64 independent living apartments for people over the age of 60 led by their later living brand, Pegasus.
The ceremony was attended by Lifestory CEO, Steve Bangs and Regional Managing Director, Mike Gill. Alongside delivery partners from Living Heritage and Gould Singleton, Lifestory was delighted to be joined by the Mayor of Lichfield, Councillor Robert Yardley and Mayoress Councillor Jayne Marks.
This will be the second Pegasus community in Lichfield, following the award-winning Pegasus Chapter House, located on Monks Close, which was completed in 2016.
Designed by Birmingham based award-winning architects Gould Singleton, Lichfield Bonds will be spread across 3 buildings, over 1.4 acres and will provide a mixture of one and two-bedroom modern and contemporary apartments. Pegasus Lichfield Bonds will include a communal lounge, social kitchen, patio seating areas and a communal garden.
A number of the apartments will enjoy stunning views across Stowe Pool and the treasured landmark, Lichfield Cathedral.
Mike Gill, Lifestory Regional Managing Director commented:
“With demolition completed on schedule, we are delighted to have reached the breaking ground milestone and for construction to now commence at Pegasus Lichfield Bonds. It was a pleasure to be joined by Mayor Councillor Robert Yardley and Mayoress Councillor Jayne Marks to celebrate this occasion. We are pleased to once again be creating another community in Lichfield. We will continue to communicate with the local community and provide regular updates on the key delivery milestones. With each development having a different feel, we look forward to seeing the community progress over the coming months.”
